Bleep — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BLEEP Limited ("Bleep", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information.

It covers both:

  • the waitlist — if you signed up through our Google Form before launch; and
  • the Bleep app — once you create an account and start using it.

Bleep is a meet-up service for dating and friendship, operating in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

By joining the waitlist or creating an account you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please don't use Bleep.

1. Who we are

Bleep is operated by BLEEP Limited, registered in Guernsey, company number CMP75500.

For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@bleepmeet.com.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this Policy.

2. Who can use Bleep

Bleep is strictly for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an under-18 has created an account, we will delete it.

3. Information we collect

If you join the waitlist

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Gender — so we can build a balanced user base ahead of launch, which matters for a service built around people meeting each other
  • Age (optional)

We do not collect payment details, ID documents or special-category data as part of the waitlist.

If you use the app

You give us:

  • Account details: email address and password.
  • Profile details: first and last name, date of birth, gender, photos, and the area you provide.
  • Optional profile attributes: height, marital status, education, religion, drinking and smoking habits, diet, bio, and the kind of relationship you're looking for.
  • Preferences: the gender(s) and age range of people you want to meet.
  • Meets you create: meet type, location/venue, time, intent and description.
  • Messages: the content of chats you exchange with people you've matched with.
  • Safety information: blocks and reports you submit.

We collect automatically:

  • Basic technical and device information needed to run the app and keep it secure.
  • Usage events (for example, completing a profile or sending an invite) so we can understand how the app is used.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data beyond what you choose to put in your profile (for example, religion). Anything you add to your profile is shared at your discretion.

4. Why we collect it

Waitlist:

  • to let you know when Bleep launches and send you an early-access invitation;
  • to understand demand and the balance of interest ahead of launch;
  • to update you occasionally on progress if there's something worth sharing.

We won't use your waitlist details for anything beyond this without asking you first.

App:

  • to create and manage your account;
  • to show you potential meets and matches based on your preferences;
  • to enable chat between matched users;
  • to keep the community safe (handling blocks and reports);
  • to send you notifications about invites, matches and messages;
  • to comply with our legal obligations.

5. Our legal basis

For the waitlist, we rely on your consent — you give it by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time (see Your rights), and we'll delete your details unless we're required to keep them for a legal reason.

For the app, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (providing the service), your consent (for example, optional profile data), our legitimate interests (safety and preventing abuse), and legal compliance.

6. How your information is shown to others

To protect your safety, Bleep limits what other users see:

  • Before you match: other users see only your first name and a general area — not your full name or full address.
  • After you match: the full meet details, including the address of the agreed meet, become visible to your match so you can find each other.

Waitlist details are never shown to other users.

7. Who we share it with

  • Other users of the app, as described in section 6.
  • Google LLC — waitlist submissions are held in Google Forms and Sheets. We also use Google Firebase to run the app (authentication, database, file storage) and Google Analytics on this website.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — we advertise on Facebook and Instagram. Those ads link to this website; Meta does not receive your waitlist submission. Meta does collect its own data about how people interact with our ads, governed by Meta's own privacy policy.
  • Brevo — our email provider, used to send waitlist and service emails.
  • Authorities, where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

These providers act as data processors on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not upload your details to any advertising platform for targeting.

8. Where your data is stored

Google and Brevo are based outside the Bailiwick of Guernsey, so your data may be processed on servers elsewhere, including in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses. You can read more in those providers' own privacy policies.

9. How long we keep it

Waitlist details are kept until the earliest of: Bleep launching and you having had the chance to sign up properly (at which point waitlist data is deleted), twelve months passing without a launch, or you asking us to delete them.

App data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete Account) we delete your profile, photos, meets and associated content. Some information may be retained briefly where required for legal, safety or fraud-prevention reasons, or in backups that are overwritten on a rolling basis.

10. Your rights

Under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • object to or restrict how we process your data;
  • complain to Guernsey's Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA) if you think we've mishandled your data — odpa.gg.

In the app you can also access and update your profile at any time, and delete your account yourself. To exercise any of the above, email hello@bleepmeet.com.

11. Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as your approximate location, device and the pages you view. We use it only to understand interest in Bleep ahead of launch — not to build advertising profiles.

You can block these cookies through your browser settings or Google's opt-out add-on.

The Bleep app itself does not use cookies, but does record the usage events described in section 3.

12. Security

We use industry-standard measures (authenticated access, encrypted connections) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what other users can see about you.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as Bleep develops — particularly as the app grows beyond its initial launch. We'll post the current version here with its effective date, and for significant changes we'll notify you in the app.
